Shankhpushpi

Shankhpushpi is an indigenous and considered as one of the very important herbs in Ayurveda.  It is generally found in North India and in neighboring countries like Myanmar. Moola (Root) is the part that is predominately used but all the other parts are also useful.

Shankhpushpi is a herb plant, known for its multiple benefits. It is grass like plants, found in the rocky areas during rainy season. In some areas, it is found throughout the year.

According to Ayurveda, Shankhapushpi is pungent, alternative tonic, bitter, brightens intellect, improves complexion, increases appetite, useful in biliousness, epilepsy, bronchitis, teething troubles of infants etc.

It is regarded as alexiteric and tonic to improve memory and to tone brain. It is highly popular for its brain development features. It controls Nurotoxicity levels, it is not only a stress reliever but is also an Anti–Depressant, and it reduces the effect of toxins in the brain.
It improves the Memory, it is indicated that about 20 grams of powdered or juice form of Shankhpushpi should be taken along with honey. It is also one of the best herbs that are used for enhancing beauty and helps in nourishing all the layers of skin.

Health benefits and usage of Shankhpushpi:

1. Improves Memory intellect-
Give 3-6 gm of its powder with sugar and milk every morning.

2. Treatment for Epilepsy-
Take equal quantities of Shankhpushpi, bach and Indian Penny wort.
Grind them to prepare powder. Give 3 gm of this powder, thrice a day.

3. Aids in Headache-
Take 1 gm Shankhpushpi and 250 mg ajwain, with warm water. It cures headache within 5 minutes.
